Established pursuant to the provisions of section 5(d), (e) of the Kenya Trade Remedies Act,2017, it is responsible for public awareness, outreach, and training of stakeholders on trade remedies and publishing and disseminating manuals, codes, guidelines, and decisions relating to its functions;
Its functions include: Develop a public awareness and outreach policy for the Agency; Develop and design public awareness and sensitization strategies and programs; Conduct public awareness and sensitization on trade remedies; Develop publications and dissemination manuals and codes on trade remedies; Create public awareness on the provisions of the Trade Remedies Act 2017;
Undertake training for stakeholders on trade remedies; liaise with relevant Agencies on trade remedies investigations; Build the capacity of stakeholders on the detection of incidences of unfair trade practices; sensitize stakeholders on the essential elements of a trade remedies complaint and the process of lodging a trade remedy complaint; Prepare a work plan and budget for the Public Awareness Division; and prepare reports on public awareness activities.
