Established pursuant to provision of section 5(d), (e) of the Kenya Trade Remedies Act,2017, it is responsible for public awareness, outreach and training of stakeholders on trade remedies and publishing and disseminating manuals, codes, guidelines, and decisions relating to its functions;

Its functions include: Develop a public awareness and outreach policy for the Agency; Develop and design public awareness and sensitization strategies and programs; Conduct public awareness and sensitization on trade remedies; Develop publications and disseminations manuals and codes on trade remedies; Create public awareness on the provisions of the Trade Remedies Act 2017;

Undertake training for stakeholders on trade remedies; Liaising with relevant Agencies on trade remedies investigations; Build the capacity of stakeholders on the detection of incidences of unfair trade practices Sensitize stakeholders on the essential elements of a trade remedies complaints and the process of lodging a trade remedy complaint; Prepare a work plan and budget for the Public Awareness Division; and Prepare reports on public awareness activities.

The Directorate will be configured into the following Division: -
(i) Public Awareness, Outreach and Training; and
(ii) Publication and Dissemination.

i) Public Awareness and Training Department is responsible for public awareness, outreach and training of stakeholders on trade remedies
function includes: Coordinating the Development and designing of public awareness and sensitization programmes; creation of public awareness and sensitization on unfair trade practices; Creating public awareness on the provisions of the Trade Remedies Act 2017; Train stakeholders on trade remedies; Sensitize stakeholders on the essential elements of a trade remedies complaints and the process of lodging a trade remedy complaint; Sensitize stakeholders on sources of information and conditions applicable to products to be imported into Kenya; Initiate the development of a public awareness policy for the Agency;  Prepare a work plan and budget for the Department; and Prepare reports on public awareness activities.

ii    Publication and Dissemination Department is responsible publishing and disseminating manuals, codes, guidelines, and decisions relating to its functions.  the functions include: Publish and disseminate guidelines on trade remedies complaint; Prepare public notices for investigation and determinations on trade remedies; Prepare final determination notices for publication in the Kenya Gazette and advertisement in the print media; Prepare notices of impending expiry of Anti-dumping, Countervailing and Safeguard measures for publication and for advertisement in the print media; Prepare technical content on trade remedies for publication; Prepare a work plan and budget for the Division; and Prepare reports on publication.
